United States Armed Forces

The U.S. Military consists of five great active-duty and reserve services and their respective well trained Guard & Reserve units. The Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard branches are all equal parts of the United States Uniformed Services, headed by the President of the United States as the Commander-in-Chief. The Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force fall under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defense (DOD). The Coast Guard reports to the Department of Homeland Security during peacetime and to the DOD (under the Navy) during any wartime activities.

Reserve & National Guard (Army and Air) Units perform as service members on a part-time basis. These troops train close to home, deploying when needed to aid in international conflict or domestic disaster relief.  The Army and Air National Guard Units answer up to Governor’s of the State where they are from and to the President when needed.  The Reserve Units of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines usually train near the base where their Unit is located.  Military members have been known to travel long distances to drill with their Reserve Units.

Before serving in the military, there are a few things a young adult can do to prepare. The ASVAB test, being physically fit, and any military career exploration program can help young adults.  A recruiter may help to discover suitable military jobs/careers that they may want to pursue. Likewise, they must meet certain criteria and requirements to serve, including age, educational, and physical prerequisites. Once a person swears into service, training begins in the form of boot camp (officially called Initial Entry Training). College students interested in entering the Service as officers may elect to enroll in their school’s Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program or other service-oriented commissioning programs. Military academies and colleges provide another route to a college degree and military officer status.

This web site is dedicated to helping those who want to serve our country.  We offer real answers to complicated questions.  The hard questions the recruiters are unwilling to answer.  There are no gimmicks, games, or quotas to fill from this web site.  The following names are those that have been successfully consulted for the military and all the different branches.  Each person is very different from the other and each has joined the military for various reasons, but each of these are a success from Military-Coach.com.  You can add your name to this list.  I wish each of them a successful military career.
